Forrester Report proves 153% ROI in network performance management made possible by LiveAction

August 17, 2023

LONDON, August 17, 2023LiveAction, a leader in network performance visibility, today announced the release of a new Forrester report showing the ROI organisations can realise by investing in LiveAction’s LiveNX and LiveWire products. Forrester Consulting’s Total Economic ImpactTM (TEI) reveals that organisations can realise ROI of 153% over a three year period – representing savings of $2.65 million when using these two LiveAction products.

LiveAction commissioned Forrester to produce a framework that could evaluate the ROI of LiveAction products. In pursuit of that goal, Forrester studied the benefits, costs and risks experienced by five different companies who had employed LiveNX and LiveWire and amalgamated them into one composite company to evaluate the effects.

LiveNX network performance monitoring platform centralises monitoring for network and application performance by combining telemetry data from a variety of sources including flow, simple network management protocol (SNMP), Software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), cloud and others. LiveWire offers high speed packet capture which can be deployed in strategic locations to capture packet data and convert it into flow data for LiveNX. Combined, these two tools allow companies to rapidly address network performance issues across multivendor, multi-domain networks.

With both solutions in place, the composite could easily monitor a range of different devices across their network. They benefited from greater ease-of-use, enhanced visualisation and an overall improved customer experience which meant less downtime and more reliable systems.

The report found savings throughout the composite’s network performance operations.

  • By avoiding buying extra equipment and circuits to expand bandwidth, the composite saved $2.1 million.
  • The reduced network outages and increased business productivity amounted to savings of $1.5 million.
  • Automating report generation and eliminating the manual processes involved save the composite $576,000.
  • Mean Time to Resolution for network issues dropped by 50% and saved $187,000.

Ultimately this composite realised benefits of $4.37 million against costs of $1.72 million they would have incurred if they hadn’t been using LiveWire and LiveNX. This added up to a net present value (NPV) of $2.56 million and an ROI of 153% within three years. In fact, the composite’s investment with LiveAction was fully paid back within 12 months and the median time to resolution dropped by 50%.

“The network is both growing and becoming an ever more crucial foundation of and enabler to business transformation. Yet many still struggle to resolve network issues and employ manual strategies for network management. It’s time for organisations to regain centralised control and visibility over their network operations and this new report shows that investing in LiveNX and LiveWire products can help them do that,” said Francine Geist, CEO of LiveAction.
