Integrated QoS Control with LiveNX and Cisco EasyQoS
Report templates provide an easy way for LiveNX System users to access a group of report, or a single report without needing to search or build them. LiveNX 6.2 introduces a series of pre-defined report templates such as Voice Story or SD WAN. Favorite Applications is integrated with Cisco APIC-EM EasyQoS Reports providing a runtime view of the latest apps and their attributes such as jitter/loss, traffic class and business relevancy.
Extended Alerting for SD-WAN Site-to-Site Analysis
As customers continue to leverage LiveNX as a Day 2 operational platform, LiveNX 6.2 extends its industry leading SD-WAN monitoring and performance capabilities with network alerting:
- Interface percent utilization – Set a utilization threshold for an interface and alert whenever any interface in the set exceeds a certain percent utilization threshold (either inbound or outbound).
- BGP peer connection changes – Create an alert that will send an email anytime BGP peer drops on any router with a BGP peer table.
- IWAN/PfR path change alert – When a path change occurs it is treated as a potential issue in the network because this means that the current link the traffic was being sent over is no longer suitable or available to do so, and another link should be used instead.
- PagerDuty integration of published alerts – Alerts sent to email@
live-dev.pagerduty.com trigger the alerts based on the workflow and escalation policies in PagerDuty.
Rapid Device Discovery Through Auto-Semantic Discovery for Fast Deployment Times
The legacy way of inputting device name, IP address, interface type, etc. into LiveNX manually was time consuming and labor intensive. LiveNX 6.2 introduces new Auto-Semantics capabilities that associate devices to sites, link capacity, site IP mapping, service provider, etc. and auto populates LiveNX so you can be up and using the platform faster.
Easy Onboarding with Guided Navigation for New Users
To ease the process of configuring your newly installed LiveNX 6.2 software, a guided tutorial is now added to the main menu bar to get you up and running more efficiently.

As large enterprise deployments and managed service provider environments increase in complexity, the system-level understanding of the LiveNX nodes and server environment is now simplified with administrative views into CPU, RAM, flow store free size, active devices on the node, etc. This helps the LiveNX system admin to plan for capacity and performance in Day 2 operations.
LiveAction Server Installer End-of-Life Notification
Effective July 1, 2017
After July 1, 2017 the available deployment options for the Server and Platform component will be:
- OVA format for VMWare
- OVF format for Microsoft HyperVisor
- OVF format for KVM
Planning Your Migration to a Virtual Appliance Installation
This notification is intended to provide the opportunity to plan for your migration to the Virtual Appliance deployment option. In order to make this transition as easy as possible, the following support is available to assist you:
- LiveAction will provide an upgrade path from 6.1 Installer to 6.2 Virtual Appliance (OVA or OVF)
- With the release of 6.3/7.0 (expected: Oct. 2017), there will be no direct upgrade path from the Installer to the Virtual Appliance
- Maintaining an active LiveAction maintenance plan will provide access to the LiveAction Technical Support Team to provide assistance with your migration
