LiveSP Advances LiveAction’s Tech Portfolio Evolution

A major next step in the growth of LiveAction

network management

I am extremely proud to announce that we acquired the network management business of LivingObjects, which I see as a major next step in the growth of LiveAction.

LivingObjects built a world-class, cloud-first, network monitoring platform that is used to visualize router status, SD-WAN controllers including IWAN, Viptela and Nokia Nuage, orchestration solutions such as Cisco NSO, and flow-based features such as application visibility and control and network-based application recognition.

In addition, LivingObjects’ technology can be white labeled and used by the biggest service providers to bring new features quickly and flawlessly to their customers.

LivingObjects already has some of the largest Service Providers using its platform across thousands of enterprise customers and around a hundred thousand routers under management.

This is all super exciting stuff and to top it off, we are joined by a team of hard-working, intelligent, ‘weapons-grade’ developers who have been building code side-by-side for years. This team perfectly complements our current developers and engineers in Hawaii, Palo Alto, Ukraine, and India and it means we essentially enter 2018 hitting the ground running.

The LivingObjects team is now part of LiveAction’s Service Provider Business Unit, which is led by Bertrand Le Marec, the founder and CEO of LivingObjects. The technology becomes “LiveSP,” which is our Service Provider platform, a multi-tenant, fast reporting solution.

Both companies are more formidable together as we go after the significant opportunities in the managed services market, a sector that MarketsandMarkets expects to grow from $38.6 billion in 2016 to $59.3 billion in 2021. LiveAction is positioned to ride this wave as the acquisition brings more scale, new features and faster development.

From our earliest days, LiveAction has been known for its unique ability to visualize data and simplify complexity. In the near future, our architects and technologists are looking forward to bringing their models and processes to the LiveSP platform to deliver new views and workflows for SP customers and their users. In the longer term, we look to bring simplicity, efficiency, and customization from the SP platform to our LiveNX customers.

For example, we were one of the first companies in software to use Endsley’s model of situational awareness in networking, which was something we learned from our Department of Defense days. Since using this in our topologies, it has dramatically changed how network administrators view their network, helping to reduce downtime, quickly identify problems and deploy long-lasting changes.

Just a few years ago, we were 12 people working from a tiny office in Honolulu. Back then we used to imagine what we could be one day. Sometimes I would worry that I was dreaming too big. But today, we follow the sun and truly cover the world.

Still, we’re in the very early innings here at LiveAction. Follow us on our journey on LinkedinTwitter and Facebook.
