Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does LiveNX offer full configuration and change management capabilities today? A: With LiveNX 4.1 release in mid August 2014, it offers full NCCM functions through the integration with netLD

Q: How do LiveNX QoS configurations work with netLD NCCM? A: Existing LiveNX QoS configurator allowing customers to build QoS policies through a GUI interface continues to be separate from netLD NCCM functions. Today, LiveNX users can create a policy, copy it to multiple devices and apply the policy to the interfaces. However, the devices and interfaces need to be selected via a click box. For mass configuration of thousands of devices, use the netLD configuration management interface within LiveNX. In addition, the CLI previews from LiveNX QoS configurator can be copied and pasted into a template-based configuration file to be deployed to many devices using NetLD “Command Runner”.

Q: How do netLD NCCM functionality compare to Prime Infrastructure? A: See the netLD, Cisco Prime comparison table

Q: If devices are discovered by LiveAction, can you operate them from with netLD or do they have to be re-discovered within netLD? A: Devices discovered by LiveNX for topology and flow visualization are not automatically recognized by netLD. Therefore, they will need to be re-discovered within netLD for hardware inventory, bulk configuration changes, and configuration backup operations.
